GridDo legal texts
Here are the documents that govern the use of GridDo: the terms and conditions, the privacy policy, the cookie policy and the third-party licences. All four are published in every language of this site.
The legal text is also published in the official TERMS_GRIDDO.md and POLICY_PRIVACY_GRIDDO.md files. In case of any discrepancy, the English version prevails.

1.Acceptance of these terms
By installing or using GridDo (the “App”), you agree to these Terms and Conditions and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
The App is provided by TinyCode Labs (“we”, “us”).
2.What you get
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to install and use the App on devices you own or control, for your own personal or internal use.
The App is currently provided free of charge. There are no purchases, no subscriptions, and no in-app transactions. Nothing in these terms obliges us to introduce any paid feature, and we may introduce one in a future version on terms we will state at that time.
3.Your data stays on your device
GridDo is a local-first application. Your tasks, categories, settings and Pomodoro history are stored in a private database on your device and are not transmitted to us.
This has a direct consequence you should understand:
Uninstalling the App permanently deletes your data. There is no copy held by us, no cloud backup, and no recovery. If deletion is what you want, that is exactly what happens. If you want to keep it, back it up before uninstalling.
We strongly recommend keeping your own backup of any data you cannot afford to lose.
The only data transmitted off your device is a limited amount of diagnostic telemetry, described in our Privacy Policy. That telemetry is retained by Google independently of the App and does not disappear when you uninstall.
4.Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- Use the App in violation of any applicable law or regulation.
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to derive the source code of the App, except where such restriction is prohibited by law.
- Modify, adapt, translate or create derivative works of the App.
- Remove, alter or obscure any proprietary notice, label or mark in the App.
- Distribute, sublicense, lease, sell, or commercially exploit the App.
- Use the App to store or transmit content that is unlawful, infringing, defamatory, or that you do not have the right to use.
- Interfere with the App’s operation, including by introducing malicious code.
- Use automated means to extract data from the App in bulk, except as permitted by law.
The App is provided for personal organisation of your own tasks. You are solely responsible for the content you enter into it.
5.Third-party services
The App uses the following third-party services, provided by Google LLC:
- Firebase Analytics, for usage measurement.
- Firebase Crashlytics, for crash diagnostics.
Your use of these services is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Google's Terms of Service. We do not control these services and are not responsible for them.
6.Open-source licences
The App bundles the typeface Space Grotesk, used under the SIL Open Font License, Version 1.1. The full licence text is available in the App under Settings → About → Licences.
7.Disclaimer of warranties
The App is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title, non-infringement, and accuracy.
We do not warrant that:
- The App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or available at all times.
- The App will be compatible with every device or Android version.
- Your data will not be lost, corrupted, or damaged.
- Reminders or notifications will be delivered at any particular time. The operating system may delay, batch, or suppress notifications to conserve battery.
We do not warrant that the App is free of defects, that it will function uninterrupted or error-free, or that all use cases are covered. Some features may be unavailable in your region or on your device.
8.Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, loss of profit, loss of goodwill, or business interruption, however caused and regardless of the legal theory, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the App.
Where the law does not permit the exclusion of certain liabilities, our liability is limited to the greater of:
- The amount you paid for the App (which is zero, as the App is provided free), or
- Fifty United States Dollars (USD 50).
Nothing in these terms excludes or limits liability for:
- Death or personal injury caused by our negligence.
- Fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
- Any other liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited under the applicable consumer protection law of your jurisdiction.
If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, that provision shall be modified to the minimum extent necessary to make it enforceable, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force.
9.Intellectual property
The App, including its name, design, code, icons, artwork and documentation, is owned by TinyCode Labs or its licensors and is protected by intellectual property laws.
These terms grant you a licence to use the App only. They do not transfer any ownership right to you.
10.Changes to the App and these terms
We may update the App from time to time. We may also revise these Terms and Conditions. Material changes will be announced in the App or on this page.
By continuing to use the App after a change takes effect, you accept the revised terms. If you do not accept them, you should stop using the App and uninstall it.
11.Termination
You may stop using the App at any time and uninstall it, which deletes your local data permanently.
We may suspend or terminate your access to the App if you materially breach these terms, in particular the acceptable use obligations in section 4.
12.Severability
If any provision of these Terms and Conditions is held to be invalid, unenforceable, or inapplicable, that provision shall be severed, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
13.Governing law
These Terms and Conditions are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws applicable at the App publisher's place of establishment, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Nothing in these terms excludes mandatory consumer protections available to you under the law of your country of residence.
Where you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you retain the benefit of any mandatory protections under the laws of your country of residence. Where you are a consumer resident in Brazil, you retain the protections of the Brazilian Consumer Defense Code (Lei nº 8.078/1990), including the right to present a complaint to SENACON.

1.Summary
GridDo is a task manager that works locally first.
Everything you type — your tasks, your descriptions, your categories, your settings, your Pomodoro history — stays in a database on your device. It is never transmitted to us or to anyone else. We do not operate a server that holds your task content.
What does leave your device is a small amount of diagnostic telemetry sent to Google Firebase: an app-instance identifier, crash reports, and an event recording that the app started. That is described in section 3.
This policy explains exactly what that is, why we use it, and how to remove it.
2.Data we do not transmit
The following data is stored in a SQLite database on your device and is never sent anywhere.
| Category | Data stored |
|---|---|
| Tasks | Title, description, completion state, completion date, category, creation date, due date, priority, colour, subtasks, importance flag. |
| Categories | Name and colour. |
| User profile | The display name you choose. It is not linked to an account and is not validated against any service. |
| App settings | Notification preference, default reminder time, muted categories, onboarding state, completed-task visibility, colour theme, system-theme preference, dark-mode preference, interface language. |
| Pomodoro settings | Work and break durations, sessions before a long break, auto-start preferences, notification sound preference, lifetime and daily session counters, date of the last session. |
| Pomodoro sessions | Session phase, control status, remaining seconds, session count, end time. |
Notifications are handled entirely by the Android operating system and are not stored in the app database. Android keeps its own record of scheduled notifications, outside of our control.
3.Data we do transmit
We use two Google Firebase services. Both are operated by Google on our behalf under their own privacy terms.
Firebase Analytics
What is sent:
- An app-instance identifier — a per-installation identifier generated by Google. It does not identify you or your device in a way that can be traced back to you.
- An advertising identifier, read by the SDK by default. We do not use it to target advertising and we do not display advertising.
- A masked IP address, from which Google derives an approximate location (city-level).
- Screen views and sessions, and one custom event we register when the app starts, containing the app's build flavour and the timestamp.
Why: to understand how the app is used, how often it is opened, and whether it is functioning correctly.
Firebase Crashlytics
What is sent:
- Stack traces and application state captured when the app crashes or an unhandled error occurs.
- Device metadata at the moment of the crash, such as model, OS version and available memory.
- A Crashlytics installation identifier, used to count how many users are affected by a given crash.
Why: to diagnose faults we could not reproduce ourselves. Without this, a bug that only appears on a particular device would be invisible to us.
Transitive dependencies
Crashlytics depends on the Firebase Installations and Firebase Sessions SDKs, which are therefore also present in the app. Installations generates the per-installation identifier described above; Sessions provides crash-free session metrics. We do not use either to identify you.
We do not share
We do not transfer any of the data above to third parties, to advertisers, or to data brokers. Data collected through Firebase goes to Google as our infrastructure provider, which processes it on our instructions.
4.Legal bases for processing
| Processing | Basis |
|---|---|
| Storing your tasks, categories and settings on your device | Performance of a contract — the app cannot function without this. |
| Firebase Analytics | Legitimate interests — understanding usage of the app we provide. |
| Firebase Crashlytics | Legitimate interests — diagnosing faults in the app we provide. |
We do not use your task content for analytics, profiling, or advertising of any kind.
5.Deleting your data
There are two categories, and they are deleted differently.
Data on your device
Uninstalling GridDo deletes all of it. The database containing your tasks, categories, settings, Pomodoro history and display name is stored inside the app's private storage and is removed when the app is uninstalled. We cannot recover it and we have no copy of it.
You can also delete individual tasks and categories from within the app, and change your display name in Settings.
Telemetry held by Google
Uninstalling the app does not delete the telemetry described in section 3. Firebase retains it independently of your device.
To request deletion of that telemetry, email tinycodelabs.dev@gmail.com with the subject “Telemetry deletion request”. We will forward the request to Google and confirm once it has been submitted.
Because this is not something the app can do on its own, this email address is the only mechanism available for removing it.
6.Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you.
- Rectify data that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Erase data.
- Restrict or object to processing.
- Port your data to another provider.
- Withdraw consent, where we rely on consent.
- Complain to your local data protection authority.
Because the data described in section 2 never leaves your device, we do not hold a copy of it and cannot provide it to you. You can read, export and modify all of it directly from the app, which is better than a copy we would hold.
For the telemetry in section 3, contact tinycodelabs.dev@gmail.com. We will respond within 30 days.
7.Security
- In transit: all data transmitted to Google is encrypted using HTTPS/TLS.
- At rest: we operate no server that stores your task content, so there is no copy of it at rest on our side. Data on your device is protected by the operating system's application sandbox and, if you have enabled it, by your device lock screen.
- Access: the Firebase project is accessible only to the developer.
No system is perfect. If a breach affects your data, we will notify you and the relevant authority as required by applicable law.
8.Children
GridDo is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact tinycodelabs.dev@gmail.com and we will delete it.
9.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. Material changes will be announced in the app.
| Date | App version | Change |
|---|---|---|
| 2026-10-08 | 2.0.0 (build 21) | First published version. |
Previous versions are not retained; the revision history above records what changed and when.
10.Disclaimer and limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, GridDo is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that your data will never be lost. We strongly recommend keeping your own backup of any task data you cannot afford to lose, as uninstalling the app deletes it permanently with no recovery.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, arising from use of the app.
Nothing in this section excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that applicable law does not permit to be excluded.
